Bekki Chikashige served as a bushō and retainer of the Ōtomo clan of Bungo Province.

Chikashige was the son of Bekki Chikanobu, a retainer of the Ōtomo clan of Bungo.  In 1551, Chikanobu was killed at the Battle of Kosaka in Hizen Province.  Chikashige’s uncle, Bekki Chikanari, succeeded Chikanobu as head of the clan, while Chikashige became his adopted son, later inheriting the clan.

As a commander in the Ōtomo army, Chikashige joined his younger brother, Bekki Chikamune, under Bekki Akitsura in a series of five battles at Moji Castle in Hizen Province spanning from 1558 to 1562.  He also participated in attacks against Takahashi Akitane at his home base of Hōmanyama Castle.  Chikashige died at the Battle of Yasumimatsu in 1567.  Following his demise, Akitsura (later Tachibana Dōsetsu) became head of the Tachibana clan.  Chikashige’s eldest son, Bekki Shigetoki, stayed behind in Fujikita as a retainer of Bekki Shigetsura.  Tachibana Shigezane and Tachibana Akisada became retainers of the Tachibana.
