Ashina Ujikata was a bushi during the Sengoku period. He was the eldest (illegitimate) son of Ashina Morikiyo, the fifteenth head of the Ashina clan based in Kurokawa Castle in Aizu in Mutsu Province.
The Ashina were a branch of the Kanmu-Heishi lineage of the Miura clan.
In 1516, Ujikata was born to a prostitute, Kawano Gozen. Following the birth of his younger brother, Ashina Moriuji, Ujikata was sent out of Kurokawa Castle and raised by Tomita Yoshizane.
In the second month of 1561, after Moriuji attacked Naganuma Sanekuni and was absent from Kurokawa, Ujikata plotted a rebellion with the support of Yoshizane and his sons, but it was suppressed days later and, along with his retainers, he killed himself on Mount Higashi.
