Aokage Takaakira served as a bushō during the Sengoku period. He was a retainer of the Ōuchi clan of Suō Province.
Takaakira served as a magistrate under Ōuchi Yoshitaka, a sengoku daimyō and the sixteenth head of the Ōuchi clan.
On 11/3 of Tenbun 18 (1549), upon orders of Yoshitaka, he served as the chamberlain of Kannabe Castle captured by the allied forces of the Ōuchi and Mōri from Yamana Tadaoki during the Kannabe Conflict in Bingo Province.
Yoshitaka also relied heavily upon another magistrate named Sagara Taketō so, in a bid to remove Yoshitaka, he instigated a rebellion led by Sue Harukata in 1551. This is known as the Tainei Temple Incident.
In 1556, Takaakira appeared to have been killed in battle against the Mōri during the Subjugation of Bōchō.
