Toki Yoritaka served as a bushō during the Sengoku period.

In the ninth month of 1544, Yoritaka joined his father-in-law, Saitō Dōsan, to battle against Oda Nobuhide (the sengoku daimyō of neighboring Owari Province) following an invasion by the Oda army of Mino Province.  Dōsan, however, plotted to crush the Toki clan from a time before the invasion by the Oda.  While Yoritaka stayed at Mudōji Castle in Kasamatsu in the Hashima District, Dōsan directed Matsubara Gengo, the lord of Watari Castle, to serve as an assassin of Yoritaka, and, after Gengo barged into Yoritaka’s sleeping quarters, Yoritaka took his own life.
