Suwabe Sadakatsu served as a bushō during the Sengoku and Azuchi-Momoyama periods. He was a retainer of the Gohōjo clan. He served as the lord of Hio Castle in Musashi Province.
In 1568, Takeda forces led by Yamagata Masakage attacked Hio Castle. Sadakatsu, however, drank alcohol the night before with guests, and was asleep with a hangover. His wife, Myōki-ni, donned a helmet and armor and deployed with retainers to intercept the Takeda army.
Later, Sadakatsu made an earnest apology to Hōjō Ujikuni, the lord of Hachigata Castle, promising to abstain from alcohol.
