Shinohara Sakichibei served as a bushō during the Sengoku period.  He was the lord of Ebisuyama Castle in Awa Province during the Kōji era (1555 to 1558).  Sakichibei was born as the second son of Shinohara Nagamasa.  His older brother, Shinohara Nagafusa, became a powerful bushō leading forces from Awa and Sanuki to battle in the Kinai.  His younger brother, Shinohara Jiton, became the lord of Kizu Castle in Awa.

In 1562, he obeyed Miyoshi Jikkyū, deploying for the Battle of Kumeda, but was defeated by Hatakeyama Takamasa and took his own life.
