Shichinohe Iekuni served as a bushō during the Sengoku and Azuchi-Momoyama periods.  He was a retainer of the Nanbu clan.  Iekuni served as the lord of Shichinohe Castle in the Kamikita District of Mutsu Province.

Iekuni was born as the son of Shichinohe Naokuni.

He fought against Ōura Tamenobu (later known as Tsugaru Tamenobu) who invaded from the western portion of Mutsu, but could not stop the Ōura and lost the territory of Hiranai.

In 1591, during the Revolt of Kunohe Masazane, he joined in support of Kunohe Masazane and launched assaults against neighboring Shuppōji and Rokunohe castles.  Iekuni and Masazane posed a challenge for the army sent to subjugate them but, in the end, they surrendered and Iekuni was among those later executed.
