Sada Kurōzaemon served as a bushō during the Sengoku period. Later, he changed his name to Kurōbei. He was the father of Mori Motomura.
Kurōzaemon originated from Inaba Province and initially served the Hosokawa clan. He had landholdings of 38 kan in the Sada manor of Awa Province. Later, he served the Miyoshi clan.
Kurōzaemon founded the Mori family and led the Awa navy. As members of the Hachisuka family, the Mori were referred to as Mori Jingobei for generations from the Sengoku period to the middle of the Edo period. Kurōzaemon served as the lord of Tosadomari Castle located on the Tosadomari Inlet in Awa.
He served as an instructor to Matsunaga Hisahide in regard to military tactics, but, owing to differences of opinion, he returned to Awa.
