Sena Nobuteru served as a bushō during the Sengoku period.  He was a retainer of the Imagawa clan.

In 1544, Nobuteru was born as the son of Sena Ujitoshi (Sadatsuna).  The Sena clan were members of the Imagawa family and his mother was the daughter of Imagawa Ujichika.  Nobuteru originally served Imagawa Yoshimoto and Imagawa Ujizane.  Following a split between the Imagawa and Takeda clans, in the twelfth month of 1568, the Sena clan joined Asahina Nobuoki and Katsurayama Ujimoto to collude with the Takeda during an invasion by the Takeda of Kai into the territory of the Imagawa – an event known as the Invasion of Suruga.  Owing to these contributions, Nobuteru received one of the characters in his name from Takeda Shingen (known as Nobuharu) and changed his name from Ujiaki to Nobuteru.

The last known reference to him was recorded in ninth month of 1572 so he likely died around this time.

Genealogy

According to genealogical records, he is identified as Ujiakira or Ujinori.  His father was Ujitoshi (Sadatsuna).  After his demise in 1568, Ujiakira became a rōnin, or wandering samurai, and died on 4/10 of Genna 2 (1616).  This is four days apart from the date of death of his son, Sena Masakatsu.  His year of birth and age at death are not stated.  The genealogy notes four sons and five daughters including Masakatsu (served the Edo bakufu), a daughter (wife of Yora Yohei), Imagawa Sadakuni (started a separate family), Eikō (practitioner of Shugendō residing at the Shōsen Temple in Kyōto), unknown (Kogen), daughter (wife of Katsurayama Hachirō), daughter (wife of Ōya Yohei), daughter (wife of Kanbe Kichiemon), daughter (wife of Ozawa Tarōbei).
