Oshika Noriyoshi served as a bushō during the late-Muromachi period. Noriyoshi was the younger brother of Oshika Norimitsu and the cousin of Imagawa Yoshitada, the sixth head of the Imagawa clan of Suruga Province. His childhood name was Magogorō. Under another theory, Magogorō was the son of the younger brother of Noriyoshi, an individual named Awa-no-kami whose real name and achievements are unknown.
After Yoshitada was killed at the Battle of Shiokaizaka in Tōtōmi Province, Noriyoshi’s older brother, Norimitsu, served as a proxy for the head of the Imagawa clan. In lieu of his brother, Noriyoshi governed the village of Oshika in Udo-no-kōri. Years later, Yoshitada’s orphan and lineal heir, Imagawa Ujichika, attended his coming-of-age ceremony but Noriyoshi did not attempt to relinquish the role as head of the clan to him so was attacked by Ise Moritoki (later known as Hōjō Sōun) whereupon Noriyoshi and Norimitsu took their own lives in the Imagawa mansion in Sunpu.
