Nose Yoriyoshi served as a bushō during the Sengoku and Azuchi-Momoyama periods.  Yoriyoshi was a retainer of the Ukita clan and served as the lord of Motobuto Castle in Bizen Province.

The Nose clan were small landowners in the Kojima District of Bizen.  The Nose were descendants of Tada Yorisada, a bushō during the late Kamakura period and into the Nanboku period, and the Tada clan were related to the Settsu-Genji family.  The details of the Nose genealogy remain uncertain.

Yoshiyoshi was affiliated with the Bizen-Matsuda clan, followed by the Ukita clan.  In 1567, Yoriyoshi was recognized for killing Shō Motosuke at the Battle of Myōzenji.  He made further contributions at the Battle of Hachihama in 1581 in battle against the Mōri.  Owing to his valiant efforts, he is known as one of the Seven Spears of Hachihama who enabled the Ukita to retreat to Hachihama Castle.

Yoriyoshi’s descendants served the Ikeda clan with a fief of 200 koku.  In the Edo period, numerous members of the family served under Ikeda Tsunamasa, such as Nose Katsuemon as an administrator of religious sites.
