Mitsuki Chikatsuna served as a bushō during the Azuchi-Momoyama and early Edo periods.

In 1574, Chikatsuna was born as the youngest son of Anekōji Yoritsuna, a bushō, daimyō, noble, and head of the Mitsuki-Anekōji clan in Hida Province.

He was a hatamoto, or direct retainer of the shōgun, under the Edo bakufu.  He is surmised to have received one of the characters in his name from Kanamori Nagachika, a daimyō and senior retainer of, among others, Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu.
