Kanemaki Hirotsugu served as a bushō and retainer of the Asakura clan during the late Muromachi period.

Hirotsugu served Asakaura Takakage of Echizen Province.  He was known as an outstanding and powerful warrior as well as a talented civil official.

Early in 1475, Hirotsugu served meritoriously at the Battle of Inuyama Castle.  His second son, Kagehisa, was adopted by Uno Hisashige.
