Daidōji Kanekatsu served as a bushō during the Sengoku period.  He was a retainer of the Gohōjō clan.

Kanekatsu was born as the eldest son and designated heir of Daidōji Morimasa.  Kanekatsu was the father of Daidōji Masashige.

After the Siege of Kawagoe Castle in the fourth month of 1546, Kanekatsu’s father, Morimasa, became the chamberlain of Kawagoe Castle while Kanekatsu took over Morimasa’s duties as the official for Kamakura.  Following the death of Morimasa, Kanekatsu became the chamberlain of Kawagoe Castle.  He conducted a survey of the lands owned by shrines and temples in Kamakura and managed their reconstruction.  In 1553, in response to the invasion of Suruga Province by Takeda Shingen, Hōjō Ujiyasu rushed with a group including Hōjō Ujishige, Matsuda Norihide, and Kanekatsu to aid Imagawa Yoshimoto, the sengoku daimyō of Suruga.  In 1558, during a visit by Ashikaga Yoshiuji, the Koga kubō, to the Tsurugaoka-Hachiman Shrine in Kamakura, Kanekatsu engaged in preparations to welcome him.

In 1561, Kanekatsu contributed by preventing an attack by Uesugi Kenshin against Kawagoe Castle, but he died shortly thereafter.
