Chijiwa Naokazu served as a bushō during the Sengoku period. Naokazu was the lord of Kamabuta Castle in Hizen Province in northwest Kyūshū.
Naokazu was the father of Chijiwa Norikazu (Miguel), a member of the Tenshō embassy sent by Ōtomo Sōrin, a sengoku daimyō and Christian convert, to the Pope and the kings of Europe in 1582.
Naokazu was born as the third son of Arima Haruzumi and, later, was sent to the Chijiwa clan for adoption.
In 1563, he fought against Ōmura Sumitada, his older brother, affiliated with Gotō Takaakira. In 1570, Naokzu defended Yokozō Castle in battle, and after an attack by the Ryūzōji clan, Naokazu and his chief retainer named Kido Tōkurō, took their own lives.
