Kita Munechika served as a bushi during the Sengoku period.  He was the father of Kita Nobuchika.

Munechika was born as the eldest son and designated heir of Nanbu Nobuyoshi, the twenty-first head of the Nanbu clan of Mutsu Province.  According to another theory, he originated from the Kenyoshi clan.  His mother came from the Kita family who members of the Nanbu.

Munechika was born on the day after the death of his father, Nobuyoshi.  Owing to interference by Hachinohe Nobunaga, Munechika did not succeed his father as the twenty-second head of the Nanbu clan and was driven away by the Kita clan.  Around 1540, he transferred the headship of the clan to his eldest son and heir, Nobuchika, and retired.  The details of his life thereafter are uncertain, but he is surmised to have died around 1540.
